In response to Tammy Erickson’s “When to Keep Your Mouth Shut“:
I can honestly say I couldn’t disagree with you more.
I think silence is what makes people stupid. Misinformation can only lead to decline.
You may think you have something original going on in your text but it echoes the logic of myriad generations of conservatives.
I believe that honesty is always the best way to go – and if you are an intelligent enough person you wouldn’t be surprised and panic in the sight of the unexpected.
If Christ said “don’t tell the truth if you won’t gain anything” I would stop being a Christian straight away – thankfully he says the opposite. And if you are a proud human being you will accept the consequences of being imperfect.
But I suppose I’m not addressing these matters at the right forum of people here… (the Harvard Business Publishing blog)
